Version 1.0
Issue Date: May 2024

Qualification -
Unit of Competency UEPMNT447 - Diagnose and repair faults in wind turbine generator electrical systems
Description
Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to diagnose and repair faults in large scale wind turbine generator electrical systems.Diagnosis and repair of faults is the process of optimising large scale wind turbine generator electrical system outcomes through regular inspection and verification of operational efficiency. Competency in this unit requires the ability to gather data, interpret data to establish hypothesis about wind turbine generator electrical system fault, repair wind turbine generator electrical system faultand record wind turbine generator electrical system fault. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision in an electrical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment repair workshop or on site. Power generation maintenance personnel are typically trained and authorised to receive permits to work.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.Note: Workplace practiceThe application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit of competency may require a licence or training permit to practice in the workplace, where work is carried out on gas and electrical installations. Additional and/or other conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Submission Requirements

List each assessment task's title, type (eg project, observation/demonstration, essay, assignment, checklist) and due date here

Assessment task 1: [title]      Due date:

(add new lines for each of the assessment tasks)

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

Range is restricted to essential operating conditions and any other variables essential to the work environment.

Non-essential conditions may be found in the Companion Volume Implementation Guide.

Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
